Okay, let me explain what happened first. I go to get in my car and drive it, but the shifter will not move past park. So I am finally able to push the Shift Lock Release button and manually move my shifter, thinking it is a one time thing. It is not, it does it every time I put the car in park. The brake light has been on for about two days, but really hasnt seemed to be that big of a problem. Today I took it into Midas and they told me it was most likely something to do with the transmission. But my step dad figured it was probably a fuse. So we checked to see if my brake lights or horn were working, lo and behold, they weren't. So we found the fuse that ties the horn and brake lights together and found that the fuse was blown. So I went to Auto Zone bought a couple new fuses and installed one. It worked! However, ten minutes later I went back to my car to drive it, and it didn't work again. So i checked the fuse. Blown. Put another one in thinking it was a bad fuse, and it happened to that one too. My step dad said something must be shorting out and that is probably the problem.

My question is, How do i find out what is shorting out and fix it, and fix my car without paying $$$$$ for a mechanic to do a quick fix.

PLEASE HELP ME!! Thank you!
