Hi, Yesterday I bought a used 2000 reg honda accord from ebay.
The person delivered it to me so I didnt get to see it start up.
The engine management light was on, as advertised in his listing.
This morning when it was very cold and frosty, I tried starting it up and it turned over and started but immediatley went back off after struggling to remain alive.
This happened an number of time until eventually it had a weak idle but managed to keep running, I thought I d let the engine warm up to see if it makes any difference. And it did after I cleaned the windows with hot water from the tap the engine temperature was still not risen so I took it for a little journey to get some breakfast. The car heated up and it runs great now vtec working idle steady starts up fine like there is nothing wrong.
I guess I 'll really be able to tell whether there is a fault when I try starting next time from cold to see if the issue is still there.
The car was very cheap and even if I sold it for parts Id get more back then what I paid so I m not too bothered and am willing to spend a bit on it as it runs really well once its going.
Any one got some fruits of wisdom to share I'm sure there are loads experts out there
Thanks!
