I have a 2000 ford Taurus and my check engine light is on. Someone told me that there should be a fuse I can take out to get the light off. Is this true? And if so what fuse would it be? Can I leave it out? Or is this fuse used to power other things as well? I checked my manual but there was no fuse for the light. I tried taking the battery off and putting it back on, the light goes off but only for a certain period of time.
