Guy in New York
New member
Hello everyone,
I've owned my Taurus for about half a year now, I'ts in great condition, 86K miles, engine feels strong, transmission is smooth. Well maintained.
I fill up the tank, clear trip meter, when I calculate the replenished fuel with the miles ran I usually get 12- 14 miles per gallon!
I am not using the ac, windows usually 1/10th open or closed, oil is clean, used several tank fuel injector cleaners, I'm smooth on the pedal, scanned at Autozone with NO SCAN ERRORS. DEADEND!
Since I first got it the mileage was similar, never reached lets say 20mpg! Also I do lots of highway and some nyc driving.
Please folks, what should I do!? I wish to get a 2003 civic and ditch this fuel hog, but for the value and comfort I would rather fix the issue.
Recent tuneup DIDN'T HELP!
-New PCV valve -New spark plugs -New spark plug wires
-New fuel filter -New air filter -32psi on tires
Thinks I suspect, really dirty fuel injectors? o2 sensor? notice some damp sample on the manifold, leak? image: tinyurl.com/yh79nvx
