2000 ford explore problems?

hey ppl thanks for taken the time to read this ......my question is what are somethings i should look for when buying a 2000 ford explore????a guy i know has one with 130thoushed mile im going to take it for a test drive tomorrow ......i starded it up and the other day and heard it run ...after setin for two weaks and it sounded great like a realy tight motor ....it was verry clean undear the hood also......iv heard that transmission like to go out in them some times around 70,000n the guy told me that he had 300to400 dollors worth of work done just to make sure the transmission was good ......any advice?? im buying it for 700 the only resion it is so cheep is bc the inside has been guited ....but not bad looken just took out all the seats and a bed put in it prety much ....it has a few dents and dings but no bigies... any ideas???
