When I turn the key, nothing happens. No clicking, no noise, just nothing. Headlights, radio everything else works fine. Here's the weird part: I can try again later and it will start right up, no problem. I'm wondering if the neutral safety switch could be the culprit. Any suggestions?

i would say that it is eather a loose conection on the battery or loos conection on the starter or even the cyloind... is geting stuck....

sounds like a dead cell in your battery, when was the last time you replaced your battery?

I seriously doubt the neutral safety switch is causing this. Sounds like a junk battery, poor connections on starter and or battery, corroded cable ends, or corroded cables. I'd get it to a shop and have it checked by a professional.
