2000 dodge durango, brake pedal hard while off, goes soft when cranked?

Alright, not my truck but was going to change brakes and they were still over half, work great until you crank the truck then it randomly goes to the floor, tried bleeding them, no air in the lines, abs light is on. I'm not much on dodges, mainly fords, can't for the life of me figure this out, my girlfriend drives this thing to work and uses it to take her kids to school, so it's got me worried. it's the only car we have that has enough room for all of them, unless someone can tell me how to fit four kids and two adults in a mustang conv. thanks

Is normal I have a 2000 model also 5.9 engine with 114k,miles in the brake pedal it feel soft like you say , I spent alot money replacing almost all brake system in that truck it still the same!

You should had gotten a Ford Explorer or a Ford Expedition
