2000 Dodge Dakota - V6. Low idle + lope. Need Help!?

Idle is low (~500RPM). Lope occurs around the first two accelerations (e.g. from apartment to stop light, and after light changes). The lope does not happen after driving for 15 minutes, but the low idle returns when put into park, even after long drives. The lope is best described as a complete loss of power - no response even if I floor it. This is becoming more frequent with time. The problem occurs mostly during hot weather, but infrequently during temperate/cool weather. I do not use ethanol gasoline. Using the key on-off method gives the code P-DONE on the odometer screen. It has ~160K miles and is driven mainly around town.

I don't have a lot of money, but this is my only way to get around. If you know how or can point me in the direction of how to fix it at home, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
 
take it to auto zone and let them scan the computer for a trouble code, at least this way you,ll have something to go on,and its free ,this way you wont be buying parts for it that you think you need, you,ll know for sure once you get a code to work with,that's really the best and cheapest way out of this,the most likely cause of that happening could be a bad throttle position sensor but have the scan done first,good luck with it.
 
sounds like throttle position sensor failure to me but with checking it in person that's my best Guess.
 
Could be an Idle Air Control motor, Throttle Position Sensor. Possibly even a temperature sensor. Difficult to tell without talking to the computer.
Most parts stores, especially the big chains like Pep Boys, O'rieley, Autozone etc., will scan it for you and give you the codes and description for free.
Then you can re-submit a question with that info or do some internet searching youreself to figure it out.
