know its tranny prob, h? how serious can it be just started today just wondering what to expect from tranny shop could it be linkage
 
Have you checked the oil level? take the linkage off, jack the rear of the vehicle up engage gear with the linkage off see if it does the same.. get someone to help so you dont get hurt

that's more than a problem with the linkage,its more than likely a shift solenoid or the governor gone bad,id wait till i got news from a tranny shop on it though,both are fixable,it kind of sounds like the transmission may have went in it,but without further diagnoses there's no way to be sure,low fluid levels will also cause this too happen,good luck.
