I have a Buick Regal and when I went to go somewhere today it did not start up. However, I have not used it since the beginning of March (college) and am wondering if the inactivity has anything to do with it. I just replaced the battery in December and did not leave anything on like my lights (because they automatically turn off) and I unplugged anything that may have used the battery. Does my problem have to do with the inactivity or is it more serious?

I have not been able to try to jump it yet.
I also cannot get the key out of the ignition.
Car is completely dead, nothing lights up.

If the car is completely dead when you try to turn it over (i.e. none of the gauges move, no noise from the car) it's probably your alternator which a VERY costly repair. If it was just your battery your guages would at least jump, and you would hear your car "trying" to turn itself over. Just in case though, make sure that all of the connections to the battery are secure.

A month is pretty long to let a car sit. Most modern cars will always have something working electronically in the background even when the car is off. So this may be the reason why your car is dead if you let it sit for too long. Charge it back up and as long as you drive it ever other day then it should work ok.
