Hey,

so i'll try to keep this brief, i just started to play football at a indoor tackle football league, and about 2 months ago i was playing and i cant recall exactly how it happened but after the game my finger was swollen and very puffy. When this happens i wrapped it up with a stick and a wrap for about 4 days and it was less swollen but it was still misshaped so i went to the doctors he said "its just a sprain." After 3 weeks it was still looking the same i went back and got an xray incase something was broken he told me "nothing is wrong with it wait a couple of weeks or mayb even a year for it to fully heal". I went back a month later and told him what does he think about it honestly, he said "it is arthritis".

To be honest im not to sure if he really knows what hes talking about, but my finger is always in pain and still deformed, does anyone know what this could be? and is their some sort of doctor that specializes in fingers?

Thanks again for any sort of help.:D

David.

Certainly some day as you get older it will give you some arthritic problems but today at your young age I think you should go to a different kind of doctor one that can advise you what to do when it swells up so you don't further complicate the problem by doing something you shouldn't and telling you that you have arthritis is silly..it doesn't help you to know what to do. SO...either go to a sports medicine clinic where they deal with sports injuries all the time, or a Doctor that specializes in the hand for a better evaluation. Good luck.
