Thanks for the alert. I'll activate them and then immediately after cancel the service.

its new dish equipment its actully called dishpro. it allows switches to have more power and allows you to run one cable from the LNB in some instences where if you run one cable you only get half the channels

Bell TV do not even support Dish Pro or Dish Pro Plus so you will not get any of that equipment during a regular installation, unless they screw up and include the odd DP Dual in a box, which has happened but is very rare.

I really wouldn't recommend that either. I seem to recall Bell having something in one of their terms of service about 90 days and new receivers. Not sure if that's time to activate, time they must be left activated, or what.

You are trying to do the somewhat honourable thing, when at the end of the day Shaw wants your business, and part of the intent with this promotion is to take away your ability to just switch back to Bell.

Also, not sure who told you that to get 2 receivers you have to do it online. When I did it I just called the main Shaw number and said "I got this thing in the mail.........." If you want the phone number that's on my flyer PM me.

Just buy 2 used receivers and be done with it. Don't waste your money and risk Bell getting upity by getting better receivers that Shaw won't care about anyways.

I spoke with Bell and read my contract and found nothing about that. The Bell rep said there was no problem. In fact, 3 of them confirmed it. And a Bell store worker. Enough proof?

Oh yeah....Way too cheap....lol

Just wait til we get access to the bird at 72.7, we will be using the piles of SW64's then......

Just be sure to read the contract carefully at the store when you buy them. I just had a chance to quickly glance at mine, and it does state things to the effect of "No oral agreement can override the terms of this agreement" and "activation of this receiver may be subject to a minimum term."

I guess for me it's not about "proof." It the fact that what you are doing will cost you more money, and has the potential come back to haunt you. And if I had a dollar for every time Bell promised me one thing, then did the opposite, well I would be a rich man.
