2 Male platy fish, 1 is chasing the other?

they can but the males fight for dominance and try to attract females when their are some in the tank and can also so this to show other fish that they will attack if they need to and if you have other female livebearers they will fight for them to. P.S. they should be males if their tales are pointed like you said.
 
I just got 2 male platy tuxedo fish, they are of the same size, only different colors, one is yellow one is red. (I am not 100% sure they are both males but their anal fins look very similar - pointy and not round for both) They were ok the first hour or so, now the yellow one is chasing after the red. Is this dangerous? I thought platies could live in groups...
 
They can live in groups with no problem that means that one fish is interested in the other ! my fishes did that and after maybe 2 moths they mated and had babies so good luck!:]
