ok so I have 2 alpine type r 12" that are dual 2 ohm...
does that mean i have to wire them at 2ohm .? can i wire at 4 or 1 ohm? please help!
also would this be a good amp for them (pdx 1.1000)

would wiring those subs at 2 ohm with that amp in a PORTED box sound loud/clean?

thanks for answers...

also I wont have to do anything else to do correct?

thank you

yes you have a mono amp which is perfect for running them on 1ohm which will give you the best sound and will have them hit harder all you have to do is have the them properly wired up for a picture go to crutchfield.com and click on sub woofer diagrams select mono amp with 2 2ohm subs and it will show you how to do it thats what is in my car and i did and they work great and blow some of my friends away

yes, you can wire them at 4 ohms, and maybe even at 1, it just depends if your amp can handle a load that low. i actually have 2 type r 12's in the trunk of my Impala running off two kenwood 500 watt amps in a q-logic box, and i think they sound great. the sound could be more cleaner, but it hits the low notes like you wouldnt imagine. the type r's are great subs, and have a ton of potential if theyre being powered right / in the right box.
