I am looking at purchasing a 1997 Jeep wrangler and I have 2 that I am looking at. 1 of them is a 6 cylinder 4.0 L and the other is a 2.5 L 4 cylinder. They are both in good condition, but the 4.0 has had a lot of problems which the dealer has been trying to fix for about 3 weeks with no luck thus far.
the 2.4 L has had no real problems and I am leaning towards this one. I am wondering about the power of the engine though. If I was going to want to pull anything would this engine be able to handle it? (Nothing too big, worst case scenario, another vehicle stuck in the woods or something, or maybe a trailer with some stuff in it)
I am also leaning towards the 2.5 L because of fuel efficiency.
My uncle has a 2.5 L 4 cylinder Land Rover Defender and that has held up nicely if that means anything.
I'm just wondering which Jeep is better to go with I guess.
