I didn't drop my first bike either, but my second got more miles sliding down the road on it's side than right side up.

Choose a bike in Grand Theft Auto and play for a week before you pick up the rocket, best schooling you can get.

+1

Get a bike that won't kill you the first time you flinch coming around a corner to find cat in the road...and a bike that won't kill your wallet when you slip and drop it in the driveway the first week of riding. :-)

Telling a guy to not get a bike that will kill you is a stupid thing to say becuz you could kill yourself on a VESPA!!!! If you think like that you might as well never get a bike or shit dont even get out of bed....that might kill you too. Get what you want and dont look back....

Never heard of a shit killing anyone ........I think he is trying to say by gettting a less powerfull bike as a first bike willl limit your ability to end up in a box which I agree with and yes getting out of bed or having a shit may kill you but is less likely if your carefull about it.

That is true but thats where self control comes into play. Becuz you have the power doesnt mean you have to use it. Im the type of guy that says you only live once and if you are able to get something nice and powerful get it.

Not everyone has that sort of self control so to be on the safe side it's better to advise against it IMO if he has to ask then he isn't like you or me who most likely would have just gone out and got it anyway I know I would of .

T8D1R...i was being a little sarcastic...not preachy. But seriously...in the BEGINNING new riders are prone to minor freakouts in surprise situations. These situations may cause someone with no experience to get on the gas or the brakes a little too hard and this BIKE is gonna react a lot harder than a 250 would.

That said...if he has the balls and the money to start on a Desmo...more power to him.

True get a desmo if you can....But from my case i had and ooops 3 months and it wasnt from the power it was just from being none experienced. OK OK OK The one major thng I will agree on is if you lay it down and you will. A Japanese bike will cost $1.50 to fix not compared to the ducati....im still dirt poor due to my fall. lol
