what do I need ...? electrically to hook up the trailer so that the power goes to the trailer tail lights etc. Dealer keep trying to sell me very expensive wiring units for brakes. The total costs are way too much. I need specific advice from someone who know this world so I don't buy something I don't need. thank you
TY marvin A,
I will be towing a 1400 lb. tent trailer camper. It has electrical brakes. Brake lights that I believe is directional. I see that under the rear right bumper is a plug that comes off of the main wiring. It has a cap on the blug like you see on wall outlets for child safe. I have'nt looked at it too closely yet; I presume it is a standard plug of some kind for this purpose that may need an adapter at most. thx
sp. plug for blug...

i know a lot about trailers. Send me a note and describe what kind of trailer you have
how big
how heavey
does it have its own brakes? are they ''surge'' or electric
what kind of hitch do yo have? class 1,2,or 3?
What kind of lites on your vehicle?-- do you have the separate yellow turn signals?? does the trailer have them??
