the radiator core could still be bad. The Visual of the water flow is only around the outside of the core. I would pull the radiator and have it repaired or replaced.
We've replaced the water pump, both hoses and have removed the thermostat after replacing it twice. The radiator has good flow and the water pump circulates water as can be seen visually with the engine's coolant cap removed.
