If it's stock, it's cracked.
The exhaust manifold is notorious for cracking on all Wranglers, especially YJs.

Get some Inferno Putty. I'm not sure if that's exactly what it is called, but it cures with heat, hardens like steel, and can withstand up to like 5000 degrees. I got mine at my local Auto Zone.. It's like 12 bucks. Throw some of that on there, pass emissions, and save $600 on a new manifold.

And P.S. I wouldn't pull anything with a Wrangler. The wheel base is too short.

i just bought a wrangler sport 4.0 liter 6cyl (74500 miles). its in great condition but I've heard a lot of stuff about them being prone to a cracked exhaust manifold. Exactly how common is this? Should I be concerned? Is there any way i can prevent it? If it does crack how much would it cost to replace? Thanks
and btw would it be able to pull a 17ft bass tracker boat?

As far as the cracked manifold that is a real common problem. Just keep a listen out for the "farting" sound when you accelerate. (that's the best way I could describe it to my mechanic) I really don't know of any way to prevent it. I just had to replace mine. I took it to the dealership and they were gonna charge over $600 to replace it. So I ordered a replacement off quadratec for a lot cheaper and my mechanic charged me $160 to put it on. I think in total I paid about $400. Sorry I don't know about the boat, but I hope the rest helps.
