1999 Honda Civic Lx front end intermittant knocking?

My old dependable civic (250,000 miles) has developed a knock that I have been unable to diagnose. After driving for about 30 to 45 minutes the front end develops a variable knock from the right front side. It tends to knock anytime, but usually when braking or turning. The pitch of the sound varies from very light to very loud. Steering and braking is unaffected by the occurrence. I have checked the right front side several times. The suspension is tight with no play in the wheel. New parts within the last year include: rebuilt trans, right side half axle, right side outer tie rod and front struts/springs. I would appreciate any insight with this problem.

I think it fades in and out depending on how hard the engine is working, not how fast you are going. But it sounds like you threw a rod out.
