1999 Ford Ranger auto transmition indicator pointer?

Hi guys,

The indicator pointer for a 1999 Ford Ranger doesn't line up exactly with the quadrant on the automatic transmission (it's on the instrument cluster on the instrument panel.) The pointer is displaced to the right, between quadrants for the full scale.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this? As of yet we dont have access to a repair manual for it.

Local library might have the repair manual. I know my local libraries do.

Or you can try actual car forum website.. usually they have experienced technicians on hand.
