1998 Jeep Cherokee Axle Ratio?

I just bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee SPORT 4 Door, 4 wheel drive.
I am trying to figure out what the axle ratio is in it.
I know it has a transfer case gearing of 272, but I don't have any identification tags anywhere in it telling me the axle ratios.
I have searched around and only found three websites with that information on it. The problem is, I have one telling me the ratio is 3.55:1 while the other two websites tell me 4.1:1
Is there anywhere in my Jeep that will tell me what it is? (I know chevy has that information in the glove compartment, but apparently Jeep doesn't.)
Or is there anyone who knows for a FACT what the ratio is. Apparently the internet isn't all that great of a source. =(

If it's an Automatic 4.0 it has 3.55's (unless it's a tow package tow package has 3.73's)
If it's a 4.0 manual it's usually 3.07
If it's a 4 cylinder (2.5) it's probably got the 4.11's
If you remove your rear differential cover there will be a tag with the ratio. It's a 99% chance your running 3.55's

Look at your rear diff cover, there should be a tag under one of the bolts holding it on with the ratio stamped into it. You do NOT need to remove the cover to access this tag. Chances are it is covered in gunk so you it wont be easy to see but as long as the previous owner didnt remove it, its there.

Or you can find out by your VIN.
