1998 Honda CRV Transmission?

I just had my Honda transmission rebuilt. The technician originally told me 1 year. When I went to sign the receipt it read 6 months parts only excluding electronics. I paid $2200.00 for the rebuilt transmission with only 139K miles on it. The transmission went bad after towing behind a motorhome - per Honda's specifications. It took 3 years after the fatal tow for the transmission to die.
I don't understand how some companies can offer 3 years, 2 years warranty and I only got 6 months on parts only on a rebuilt transmission. This company that rebuilt my transmission called me after the original quote to increase by $400.00. After serious arguing, we split the difference of the cost.
I can't shake this feeling I got taken in. The owner of the compay is an ex-marine so I believed in him. My car drives well. I've only had a few days since the rebuilt transmission. The owner advised me to bring back after 6 months to have filter, fluid changed at no cost to me.
Does that sound normal?
Thank you!

Your transmission needs service on a regular basis.
YES take it back in 6 months for the free fluid and filter change.

Each company will offer their own length warranty, who you go to is up to you.
Is the 1 yr warranty shop any better than the 6 month warranty shop? Probably not.

When ever you tow a car behind a motor home you need to be EXTRA careful, the heat that builds up inside the trans will kill it quick.
Does Honda say just in neutral or in neutral but no faster than 50 mph and no longer than a hour at a time?
No matter what they say if you have it in neutral and the engine running you can tow it as far, fast, and as long as you want because the engine runs the transmission pump with pumps the trans fluid threw a transmission oil cooler, this only happens with the engine running and the trans in any gear and neutral but NOT park.
