Just looking for a good car, not a hot rod. Looking at one LX and another SI with VTEC engine. Both have 5 speed manual, appear to be well maintained, have records, both 2 owners, and are clean. Even same color and similar odometer readings, about 170,000, and pricing. Main visible diff is SI has two doors and all power options, LX has air only and NO tachometer.
The LX is owned by a family. The SI by a guy who's said it was 'blast to drive.' I don't know if that means he was screaming around in it.
Which, given this info do you think might be a better buy? Main concern is VTEC engine as I've read it's very good and very complex, that is, lots of parts. If there is a break down it seems to me there is going to be higher costs involved. Also power everything sounds like more to have problems with?
