These codes indicate both banks are running lean. Now, I've actually had this problem for a while (maybe 6 months) and have been putting it off since the car otherwise is giving me no problems (no poor idle, hesitation, overheating, etc which one might expect from a lean condition). Mileage and power are okay, and I've cleaned the MAF sensor and reset the codes. Ten miles, boom, the light reoccurs. I've heard that the connector to the MAF sensor can get a little corroded internally, so disconnecting and reconnecting the MAF sensor can fix the problem. It didn't. Before I go out and fuss with it tomorrow, anyone got any suggestions? I'll listen for vacuum leak hissing, check vacuum hoses for cracks, and hook up my vacuum gauge (if I can find it). Frankly, though, I'm not hopeful. If performance is not affected, that would have to be one tiny leak, no? And how does a leak that tiny trigger the light? If I turn up no obvious problems, should I just replace the MAF sensor and cross my fingers? Car has 150K.
