Hello, I have a problem with my 1998 ford ranger radio (it's the stock radio) whenever I turn on the car to listen to my radio/CD's I dont see anything on the radio..the music plays perfectly...but I cant see what track im on..what station im on..i cant see the time so basically i can hear everything well but cant see anything...I was hoping some of you might have an idea why that might be and how to fix? thanks in advance

If the radio plays, there is a problem on the digital impress circuit; that circuit is electronically welded to the impress and sometimes those weldings are cracked or 'cold' making short on the impress. My recommendation is get another from the yunk yard 'cause is cheaper than if you take your to the repair shop.

I'd start with checking the fuse box in the truck you may have a bad fuse or wire on the back of the stereo , otherwise I'd say the stereo's display system is shot on it.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'd not just visually check the fuses if you don't have a 12 volt test probe try changing the suspected faulty fuse with a fuse the same amperage and one you know works.
