my 98 ford escort manual 5 speed transmission starts up fine but when i take it on the freeway it loses speed and eventually putts and stalls i turn it off and then restart then it acts up again! no matter what speed i am going! i took it to the auto parts store and they ran diagnostics on it and it said that there was a vacuum lose ! i have also noticed that the muffler is louder...im thinkning it might be the emissions causing the problem..i also think its the cadillac converter being clogged..another thing i think one of the sensors went bad because my speed gage was going up and down up n down on the freeway and when i got home that that night my horn went off constantly to where i had to pull the fuse...i left the fuse out for about a month or two then put it back in n it doesnt go off anymore!!!!! i want to get the car fixed because it has a toger paint job and im attached to it!!
i just had an idle air bypass put in....ill start it n let it set for a minute n it idles fine......ne other suggestions???
