1998 dodge ram 1500 quad cab stereo problems?

i installed a new cd player i used a wire harness matched the wires and now i have no sound out of the front speakers. the stock cd player all the speakers work and its not the new cd player at fault cause if i connect the wire for the front speaker to the back speaker then that speaker works but i cannot get the front speakers to play please help im very confused never had this problem before
