I am wondering if it would be worth it to buy this car. I think I maybe could talk the dealer down to $2,000 even. The car comes with a warranty with the dealer. I have read though that these cars have problems with head gaskets, timing belts, the sunroof etc. I don't want to buy the car if it's constantly going to be breaking down on me. I don't mind having the occasional problem fixed and I intend on having my car maintained, I'm just wondering if this is a car that I'm going to have problems with no matter what and it's best not to buy.

Considering this vehicle's reputation and history I would take a pass.
Find another $1000 and purchase the used Corolla or Civic.
Avoid anything small made by Chrysler.

Then DO NOT buy a Dodge Neon

any year of it

Just don't do it

Look at Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Acura
Don't buy a Dodge Neon
You're looking at lots of money and lots of problems

It would be better to hold out for something else
You can get cars cheap right now
Get on craigslist.org or your local paper
Buy private party
Search for cars under $4000
If it's been posted for a long time, people are willing to take cheap cash offers

I just got a 99 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 worth $9000 for $4500

Do not buy a Dodge Neon

dodge neons are throw away cars because most of them are cheap and end up in the hands of kids who don't know any better if you ask me, but if maintained correctly they are good for 200k.

I work at a local auto auction as a driver. I have heard dealers say that they are not that good of a car.
