1998 Chevrolet Cavalier leaking coolant (rapidly) under car.?

So my car has been leaking coolant and eventually, it ran hot. I took the car to the nearest mechanic...he looked at it and told me that I had a crack in the radiator (The leak didn't even seem like it was remotely near the radiator, but okay he's the mechanic, not me.) . When I asked how much it would cost...he googled it (yeah the mechanic) and said $350-$500. I'm like yeah right. So I look it up myself and he was way off. $150 was the highest for a radiator. Okay, so someone told me about stop leak. I went to advance and got some...and it worked for about two weeks. So I bought a radiator yesterday. I was taking the old radiator off the car today and I have convinced myself even more that it is not the radiator...cause I would be able to see something coming from it, right? The leak just seems too far away from the radiator (left side of the car under the engine it seems). Any help?
 
well it could be the radiator and the coolant could be running down an underneath panel,the chassis or even a hose or line then dripping on the ground.but there could be many things that could be the cause.like your reservoir for the coolant,a water pump or hose.or even your heater core could be leaking.those are all on the passenger side of the car.so good luck in finding your problem.
 
This is the water pump if your talking about the passengers side of the car by the engine. This is a front wheel drive car, so the water pump is on the left side of the engine. Your radiator is fine, go to a better mechanic and tell them to replace the water pump.
 
go to autozone and get a pressure tester for the coolant system. they have them on the loan a tool program. all you do is make sure it is full of water with the engine off and pressure the system up and you will find the leak then. could be a freeze plug or a intake gasket leaking.
