So my jeep is blowing warm air and it's friggin cold outside.
I made sure that the levers on the HVAC controls are all functional and the blower is working just fine.
At first I thought it was the heater core. Inside the engine compartment, there two hose that go to the heater core. The top one is about 190 degrees and the bottom is quite a bit cooler but still warm.
There don't appear to be any leaks inside the cabin around or near the heater core?
When I trace the hoses back from to the engine block from the heater core the lower hose has a small coolant leak where it goes back into some sort of valve (or maybe even thermostat housing - just bought the car and haven't found the shop manual for it yet).
In any case, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?
If it were the heater core, from what I understand a common problem with wranglers, it would be leaking somewhere wouldn't it? There doesn't appear to be a leak anywhere. The previous owner claims that he had it flushed.
Any help is appreciated.
Let me know if you need additional details.
Oh, and as far as the thermostat, the temperate gauge in the car stays at a constant 209 degrees.
Thanks.
