...clutch.? Ok so im looking at buying this 1997 civic dx 2DR. i tested it out starts up fine and other than this one problem, the car shifts and sounds great. Ok so the problem is 1st gear accelerating from start. there sounds like a grinding noise. maybe the gear teeth slipping ? i am really not sure. But when i talked to the person after the test drive he said that sometimes the stage II clutches do this. I plan to get it looked at by a mechanic. and the grinding noise isnt loud and it isnt when i swtiched gears just when i started off. the car maintined decently well. im just not looking to get ripped off lol. thanks everyone
