I just bought a 1997 Honda Civic EX coupe a couple of months ago and I finally read the manual pretty much cover to cover. Inside it said that my car had come with a keyless entry system, but that if you replaced the stereo it would stop working. Is there any way to make it work again? I mean, that's kind of ridiculous... the dome light also apparently stops working when you open the door. I'm looking into buying a new car stereo anyway within the next couple of months, so I'd like to get this dealt with at the same time, if I can.
Oh right, I forgot to mention that when I bought the car there was already a crappy aftermarket system installed and that's why I'm getting a new one. However because there was already an aftermarket system installed in the car the keyless entry system does not work at this point. So my question is if there is anyway to get it back.
