1997 honda civic a/c compressor rebuild?

Some Guy

help. i have a 1997 honda civic DX ( non v-tec). i removed the compressor after hearing a bad bearing noise, found out that the clutch bearing was destroyed, so i installed a new clutch kit, bearing, belt, freon, oil, etc. after getting in 200.00 deep and re-installing everything, i find out that the compressors internal bearings are shot also( maybe). the reason i say this is because i installed a whole new clutch kit and bearing, and with the car running and the a/c OFF, there is no bearing noises, ....but once the a/c is on and the clutch is engaged, you can then hear the bearing noise.

is it possible that driving the car with the old clutch bearing going bad made the compressors internal bearings go bad from the vibration?

i really dont have a lot of money left at this point. im in it about 200.00 and a new compressor would have been 300.00.

what are my options?

Your first mistake was not replacing the whole compressor with a rebuilt compressor.
.
You can get rebuilt compressors at parts houses starting at around 150 dollars up wholesale. Or get new ones for around 250 wholesale. Last one I got volunteered to put on it cost around 150 + tax wholesale at a part house. I normally use ABC Auto Parts, NAPA, O'Rielly Auto Parts, and sometimes Auto Zone. parts houses.
.
Call around and check the prices making sure they are letting you have it wholesale.
.
Just tell them you need it cheap as you can get it because you have to make a little money on the deal.
.
And from a certain point of view you won't be lying, because the more you save the more your net disposable income will be. .
.
Or you can got to a salvage yard and pick one up fairly reasonable.
