I have a 1997 Ford Taurus 3. U motor. I have replaced the water pump, thermostat. I bypassed the heater core because it was leaking. I pressured test cooling system and found no leaks. No evidence of coolant in the oil. Car does not smoke out of the tail pipe. I checked tempature of the upper and lower part of the radiator and had a difference of about 25 degrees. The car doesnt always over heat. Normally it stays around the halfway mark. The fans operate normally. When I turn the a/c on and drive about 30 miles the car starts to run hot. It nevers reaches red line, but came close. Is there a proper way to test the radiator? The radiator is hard to get to so I cant see in it. I dont suspect a head gasket. It acts like a thermostat sticking, but I just replaced it. Any suggestions?
