My 2.4 L has 190,000K miles. My mechanic says that it is making a tick sound that means a seal needs to be replaced around the timing chain. I don't have a regular Toyota mechanic (this mechanic works in a tire store). The timing chain has never been replaced. Should I go ahead and have the timing chain replaced as well? Does anybody have a good recommendation for a non-dealer Toyota mechanic in the Atlanta area? I intend to keep my truck for at least another 5 years - maybe longer if gas prices keep going up. I love my little truck!
