2.2l engine. This vehicle runs hot. I have figured out that the radiator fan never turns on. I have replaced the thermostat, checked the fuse, replaced the coolant temperature sensor.
To my understanding, the only problems that could be left, are the motor is bad, improper grounding of the fan, or the temperature sensor for the fan is bad.
How do I test the motor? The motor is electric. Do I run a small wire to the positive of the battery, to the connection to the fan. Do I also run a wire from the fan to a ground? Is it necessary to remove the fan for this test? If the motor is good, where is the ground connected for the radiator fan?
In addition, the rear windows will not roll up. I am not really worried about this as much, except one window is partially down. I have taken off the door panel and tried to manually raise the window, no luck. The master switch doesn't work, nor does the door switch work for either window. I can't hear the motor for either window hum. I figure this is a wiring problem.
Can I raise the window by applying power to the motor? Is it safe to use the car battery? Should I connect one to the positive, and another to a ground? Or connect both to the positive and negative terminal of the battery.
Thanks for any help.
