1996 pontiac grand am gt?

well im looking to buy my first car and i was thinking about getting the a 1996 pontiac grand am gt used of course with 80,000 miles for about 1,100-1,500. please leave your advise for me and if you have had the car than please give review of it. thanks
 
i dont know if the gt is the same but i did have a plain grand am and i found it was reliable but the seats were awful, felt like they were made out of cardboard
 
My daughter had one and it was a good car. Have a mechanic friend check it out before you buy it. In my area, that would be a good price.
