1996 honda civic no start or warning dash lights but battery good healights still ok?

hi , we have a 1996 honda civic coupe recently the car had an attempted car theft,they messed up the ignition lock and now our key has trouble turning in ignition,since than ive bought a new ignition lock and was trying to replace,i accidently while trying to remove touched a part of the ignition assembly where there is contacts with metal plyers and was a spark the key was in acc1 and the waning lights on dash turnt off.now when im lucky enough with a lil jiggling of the key and nothing happens ,no warning on dash or anything!.the lights still turn on so battery still good ive checked fuse in car and in engine and seem to be still ok.so is there any thing i sould check or did i completey short a part that needs to be replaced completely to be able to start .thanks in advance for all answers
