I have a 1996 Ford Taurus, with a dead battery. The alternator is new and so is the battery. 3 weeks. it still powers all of the power utilities..headlights power windows radio. there was lots of corrosion on the negative so i cleaned it and re attached the cable. it started fine 2 times today and when i tried at the store it cranked once and lost the strength to turn over. when i tried to jump it though i don't know if it was the cables or a battery cable is cracked or something, but it would not charge to turn the engine. i know its not the starter since it does crank slowly a few times.

The battery probably just needs to be charged overnight then clean the posts&clamps good. Then if it doesn't perform ,take it back where you bought it and exchange it for a good one.Three weeks rates 100% warranty. They will test it for defects first probably. Good luck.

You need to clean up all your connections good. Use a wire brush and sand-paper.. Make sure the negative cable is making good contact to the frame too - go ahead and clean that connection up too
