1996 ford explorer fuel pump replacement?

you'd probably help more by sitting there and looking pretty. don't mean to sound rude, but i know when i'm doing something a person who doesn't know what's going on is more of a nuisance than help.

you get to drop the fuel tank out, un hook it all take the fuel pump out of the top of the tank, put the new one in and put it all back together again

I'm a girl who knows very little about cars. I'm supposed to help my husband fix this in the morning. I'd like an idea of what I am getting myself into. In terms understandable to the fixing car impaired please.
