I have a 1996 Ford Escort LX 1.9L Sefi w/automatic transmission. It's been sitting idle for a few months, and now it's having shifting problems in drive. Reverse works just fine, but you have to start out in low gear when in drive or it won't go. Also, yesterday, the speedometer just stopped working while I was driving, and the light for the emergency brake comes on sporadically. Are the problems connected? How do I fix them?
