1995 Toyota Corolla. Can too many keys make my ignition lock not start some times?

when I turn the key it makes a one click noise. I checked battery and alternator and they are fine. It could be my starter. But its Starts after about 3 to 4 trys and after running for a while it doesnt happend that much but after left for a couple hours it always makes the click and fails to start. Can anyone help so I know what part to buy and what I'm getting into. Thanks
