1995 toyota avalon steering problem?

my avalon is kind of creaking when i turn left or right whether driving or stopped.when i put it in park and turn the wheels no noise.but when i put it in drive and stay in one place the front end creaks when turning the wheel from side to side.the speed of my vehicle does not change the creaking and squeaking level or intensity as long as the car is out of park while turning the wheels.thanks,john
