so i have a 1994 toyota pickup with a 22re. it is turning over but not starting. i have checked for the spark and im not getting spark at the distributor. i have a digital multimeter but im not 100% what settings to have it on when checking things. but since its not getting spark i checked it at the coil by takin the wire from the coil to the distributor off to see of it was getting spark and its not. is it more common for the igniter to go out or the coil? also the truck was sitting for about 3 months after i drove it and parked it. but i dont want to just go out and buy parts because the igniter is like $400. now i did have a ant problem in the truck and sprayed at sprayed with the truck stripped other than the dash.....no wiring got wet from what i saw. the ecu had 100000000 ants in it so i put a powder ant killer in it and let it sit unhooked for about a week. but after i noticed it wouldnt start i replaced the ecu.....same problem, it turns over but wont spark at the coil. plz help.
