I just bought a 1994 Toyota Paseo as my first car. It's an automatic and has close to 202,000 miles. I paid $600 for it, and knew it needed some work. However, when the seller dropped the car off at my house, and I went to back the car up and park it in the yard, something happened. I was turing the steering wheel, and I heard a pop, and suddenly the steering wheel got tight. Therefore, I assume something went wrong with the power steering. After moving the car, I noticed a large puddle of what was likely power steering fluid. Did a power steering line likely blow, or could it be the pump?
The previous owner said they recently replaced the power steering rack, even though that really doesn't have much to do with the current problem.
