1994 Toyota Celica GT misfire(2.2L)?

Ok, so I am hoping I can find someone who may know what is going on with my car so I can avoid dropping a lot of money into trouble shooting it. The problem is that I am getting a terrible misfire. It started about two months ago. First it was just rough idling, but shortly after it was misfiring every time I was below around 2000 rpm. So i decided to replace the plugs, and I discovered that one of them was completely black. I assumed this was the problem, replaced the plugs, and my car ran ok(still a rough idle, but otherwise fine) until about two weeks ago. It started as just a little struggle through 1500 rpm, but then it was fine. Now, it has gotten so bad that it is nearly undrivable. It stutters and sputters and cuts out all the way through 3000 rpm. I have very poor acceleration and have almost gotten hit a couple times because the engine cuts out on take off. I have been researching for the last two weeks with no luck and now its so bad that I can't drive it and it must be fixed immediately. Like I mentioned before, I was hoping someone would have advice on what to check first. If you need any additional information, I will try to provide it. I am pretty car illiterate, but I could probably answer any questions you have. Thanks to anybody who answers me, I appreciate it.

Okay, So I would defintiely think that you need a fuel filter, it sounds like the filter is clogged, not letting enough gas through to the engine, so you engine is struggling. Could also be dirty injectors.

Best thing to do is get a full tune up, they'll replace your fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, distributer cap, valve cover gasket.

And your car should run perfect, if you don't want to do that, just change the fuel filter and that should solve your problem, also buy a bottle of seafoam to put in your gas to clean out your injectors.
