1994 Toyota Camry quits when you slam on the gas?

Hey, I got a 1994 toyota camry 4cyl, it starts fine, idles fine, but when you slam on the gas it quits, It has fuel pressure, I changed the fuel filter, changed the battery and cleaned the contacts, does anybody have any ideas?
I also checked the spark, it has good spark
fuel filter only goes on one way, when it quits, it sounds like it is starved for gas, yet fuel pressure is fine.
When you drive it around it quits when you give it normal accelleration, I am not racing it around.
When I said slam on the gas I didn't mean I was racing it around, It is completely un-drivable
 
Did you put the fuel filter in the right way? If so then check the computer.OBD test.
 
check the oxygen flow sensor. they should be able to do this in the shop by plugging in the the computer.
 
If you don't slam the gas does it run ok,then don't slam the gas its not designed for slamming.Ive got a chevy truck that does the same thing,its a safety thing built into the system to prevent damage to the drive train.

Slam on the gas, yeah poor choice of words.
To me it sounds like the fuel is not being ignited properly.
Condition of the spark plugs good?
Does your vehicle require a valve adjustment every 60k miles?

Weak ignition along with worn plugs could cause this effect.
 
Fuel:air ratio is off, also, check timing. Dont slam on the gas, that will only tear your car up. A 1994 Camry is not a race car and is 14 years old- take it easy and it will last longer.
 
Mine does this too since the beginning of my problems after our first big freeze. We had to change the water pump, I think it was frozen because the jerks where I take it did not have enough coolant in it. And I have also thought about cracked engine block because it sounds like a back fire, sometimes.
 
tune it up,a complete tune up.if that dont work then get the commpression check on all the cyclinders.did you hae a fuel pressure gage on the fuel rail?

You said it sounds like it is starved for gas. It is. But you also said the fuel pressure is fine. I don't believe that. I believe it might be fine at idle or maybe even under light acceleration. But is it fine at full throttle... and especially under sudden full throttle?

The symptom you describe seems to point to a problem with the fuel pressure regulator. I suspect the fuel pressure regulator is not reacting to the pressure drop between the pump and the regulator which is created by the sudden increase in fuel demand when you "slam on the gas."

Your problem could be caused by the vacuum sensing hose going to fuel pressure regulator if that hose is cracked or blocked but if that hose is okay then I suspect the fuel pressure regulator is defective.
 
yeah i think its da fuel injector's
this happens when the fuel injectors need 2 b cleaned..
there is something stuck (small particle) on a fuel injector..
u better clean all (4) da fuel injectors from a nearby garage..or service station
 
look on craigslist and see someone in your area that can see whats wrong with it. get it to a shop
