1994 Mercedes c280 radio working but no sound from cd Player?

Hello, this is about 1994 c280 I changed the radio unit on my car with a new one that has cd player on it. However my radio works fine but the cd player has no sound at all. It shows that is playing but with out the sound. Can you please help? Thank you
