We had recently had our upper ball joint replaced because we were planning a 300 mile trip this Christmas. Our lower ball joint is squeaking, quite loudly on turns, like it needs to be replaced too. Our mechanic had said our lower ball joint had a little "slop" but would be fine for a couple months. I am still worried though because we have a young child, who of course is coming with us. We don't have time to get into the shop before we take this trip. Should we call it off or take the mechanics word for now? BTW we had been going to the same mechanic for years and never had a problem.
